The Manitoba Reading Association has hosted five Adolescent Literacy Summits in Winnipeg. The most recent was held in April 2019 at the Victoria Inn and Conference Centre. Over 400 educators heard from educators including Dr. Nancy Frey, Linda Christensen, Dr. Timothy Shanahan, Dr. Cynthia Shanahan, David Alex Robertson, and more. Local educators also gave breakout sessions, and teachers were constantly asked to reflect on the work they do in their classrooms and in their schools.
